Song One is a romantic drama set against the backdrop of the Brooklyn music scene and starring actress Anne Hathaway.

Jenny Lewis and Johnathan Rice (known in music circles as Jenny and Johnny) wrote the songs for the film and Johnny Flynn is the actor who sings them. They talk to KCRW DJ Chris Douridas about how they worked together.

Belle and Sebastian’s Stuart Murdoch Takes on Sundance

Some of the best news out of Sundance wasn’t even about a movie — it was word that Belle and Sebastian are at work on a new album, their first in four years. Frontman Stuart Murdoch was in town behind his directorial debut, the musical God Help The Girl, and the band came together for a live show to celebrate.

He spoke with Anne Litt and Chris Douridas about the film, which is an ode to Glasgow and its music scene.

Willis Earl Beal Serenades the Crowd at Sundance

Artist Willis Earl Beal stopped by our remote studio to chat about the film he stars in, “Memphis”, which premiered at Sundance.

The masked musician also serenaded the crowd outside, stopped for a whiskey at the bar, gave us his new EP and told us what books he’s reading at the moment. Read more here.
