KCRW hosts Jason Bentley and Anne Litt met with Sundance Film Festival Directors, Trevor Groth and John Cooper for a brief chat at the Egyptian Theater on Main Street in Park City. We ask them about the historical context of the festival and to meditate on the what the future holds for Sundance. The Sundance Film Festival is about halfway through its run in Park City, Utah. And one of the trends that’s emerging is that a number of this year’s movies deal with sex.

The idea that sex sells is nothing new in the entertainment business. But some of these movies are being criticized for being unusually frank. LA Times film reporter John Horn says one of the movies involves two mothers who have affairs with each others teenage sons. Another film, Don Jon’s Addiction, is about a young man dealing with his addiction to porn.

John Horn is covering the Sundance Film Festival for the LA Times. The festival runs through Sunday.
